I LOVE everything Titan. HATED everything about this book. There was no building to the romance between the two main characters. He's hated her for years, had one sexual "encounter" with her and suddenly he can't live without her. This book shouldn't even be in the Titan series. It was like the author had a deadline and threw something together. Felt no love connection or romance in this book. Everything felt rushed and not in a sweep me off my feet kind if way. I hope that the rest of these books in this series don't keep going downhill. They seem to be declining after Parkers story and the first few deltas
Need some parenting advice? Locke Oliver's mother, "People say boys will be boys. But not in my house, I'm raising a man." Locke is a member of Titan, an elite security group of warriors; Jared and Sugar, Parker, Rocco, Jax, and Bishop to name a few. "Rugged, harsh, beautiful, and deadly."
Locke has history with Cassidy Noble, a gorgeous red headed reporter. Unfortunately, he hates her and freaks out when he sees her again in the middle of a rescue mission in Russia!
This storyline is imaginatively complex! There are Russian spies, Baltimore Bratva Russian mafia, former KGB agents, and diabolically clever dialogue. The Author, Cristin Harber, has outdone herself; this is a home run of a book! Long, exciting, suspenseful, funny, sensuous, and a crackerjack of a good read!
I absolutely love the world Cristin Harber has created in her Titan Series. Locke and Key is no different! From start to finish I was completely immersed in the lives of these unbelievable characters. Cristin Harber once again, works her magic by creating one stand alone story, while intricately weaving past and future story lines into the fold. The inner workings of her mind must be diabolical. She manages to create suspense, combustible chemistry and a realistic world wrapped into one memorable story. She also creates real-world scenarios that readers can connect to and be made aware of, if they are not.
In Locke and Key, you meet Locke Oliver and Cassidy Noble. Locke is new to the Titan Team, but he is among the best at what he does. He is an expert at culvert opts, does his very best to make his missions a success. When a dark spot from his past comes back in the form of his next rescue mission, it takes all he can, not to go off the rails. Twenty Six men lost their lives, and now he is tasked to save the one person who may just have been the cause of it all.
Cassidy Noble is an investigative reporter. She is good at finding the truth and will stand by her sources. Even if that includes jail time for her. After her public scrutiny and congressional hearing, she is fighting to get back on top once again. When she uncovers a lead, she is forced to work with the Titan group to follow it through. Titan believes in her innocence, while Locke remains skeptical.
I cannot get enough of this amazing series. I would highly recommend it to all. You can start with this amazing stand alone, or read it from the beginning. Either way, you will not be disappointed in Cristin Harber's talents as an author!
There are several stories going on in this book. It begins with Alexander Gaev, a teacher whose parents are Russian immigrants with Russian mafia connections. Alex is married to the Russian mafia kingpin' s daughter, Taisia Mikalalov who's father runs various nefarious business' s from Russia to the United States of America making them aside from drugs, human trafficking and much political corruption.
When Alex is on an assignment in Russia through a very exclusive private high school in Washington D.C. and calls for help the Titan Group comes to the rescue by helicopter to Russia and rescues Alex and a reporter, Cassidy Noble who is with Alex covering his trip in the Krasnaya Polyana mountains. Including in the Titan Group rescue team is Locke Oliver a brave war soldier with ptsd . At the rescue he has an episode when he sees the newswoman at the rescue sight and he remembers her and her relentless rudeness when he lost his 26 men in Sadr City, Iraq.
As the book continues he hopelessly falls in love with this reporter Needleman who is pushy, self centered, doggedly wanting to constantly get the facts, and horny for Locke.
In the end they end up together, but of all Cristin Harber' s books I have read and purchased this leading lady is my very least admired .
