I had low expectations for this book and in all honesty, was convinced I probably wouldn't like it but needed to read it for a reading challenge (on Goodreads).
I wouldn't say it's the greatest thing ever, but it was a very pleasant surprise to realize I actually liked the story well enough to plan to continue the series. It had a beginning that pulled you right in and the writing, events, and character growth were done well and at a steady pace to prevent it becoming tedious; and interesting to keep you anchored into the world
This is an amazing book! The speed at which it's paced will try and take your lunch money and leave you for the zombies to eat!
A must read!
Great story! I like how it's so easy to get caught up with the characters and how they are feeling. It's a story that really keeps you interested from beginning to end.
Read the first of the series and totally addicted, bought the second as soon as I put down the first!
Definitely worth the read! Action packed love story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I'll be reading the rest soon.
This has a beautiful and romantic start that quickly gets shattered by bloodshed. Kellacun breaks off her engagement to the Dukes son, Joshua, after she finds out his father brought in assassins that killed her parents. Sworn to vengeance, Kellacun begins learning of her father's "gift" that she inherited. Thus making Kellacun a deadly opponent.
I downloaded this book at 10pm est and finished it at 330am! The world is beautifully constructed that you can imagine yourself there in the action and heartache. Kellecuun is an amazingly written character and you could definitely feel and envision her progression, from being an innocent young woman in love, to being an avenger of the weak and oppressed. Shane Moore definitely created a breathtaking character and a fully submersive world.
